Former Sharp Middle School Teacher Arrested On Sex Charges

Yesterday a former Phillip Sharp Middle School Physical Education and Health Teacher was arrested.

Brandon Cox, 25, was booked into custody by the Kentucky State Police on May 9, 2026. The charges are serious:

• Procuring or promoting the use of a minor by electronic means
• Unlawful transaction with a minor (2nd degree)
• Human trafficking, commercial sex activity with a victim under 18 (attempt)

According to school records, Cox taught at Phillip Sharp Middle School from July 2023 until July 2025.

Let that sink in.

A man now facing charges involving the sexual exploitation and attempted trafficking of a minor under 18 was in a position of authority over middle school students for two full years.

This is not some random outsider. This is someone the school system hired, trusted, and placed in front of our kids every single day.

Pendleton County parents have every right to be furious. The school system has a documented history of downplaying abuse, bullying, and misconduct while protecting its own. Now we have a former teacher arrested on these charges. How many red flags were missed? How many complaints were ignored or buried?

This is exactly why the good ole’ boy network stays so strong, people in power protect the system instead of protecting the children.
