“These aren’t quick decisions…” – Councilwoman Sabrina Hazen
If you have paid attention over the last few years to the Falmouth council meetings, nothing that is going on today should surprise you. The same people who fought tooth and nail against making upgrades and outsourcing trash and electric a few years ago are still in power.
Now they are outsourcing the trash. They are trying to find a solution to the reality of a transmission line that now costs 8 million to replace. Do not worry, they are tireless civil servants. They work for your best interests by ignoring a problem for 3 years, so the cost has now risen by 1 million.
This is who we have running our city. She was against it all then, until she looked at it herself. They always said, “We do not believe you,” and “We need to hear it from someone else.” Why would they need to hear it from anyone else when they can look for themselves and do their own research? Why must they be told what to do?
Notice how our former councilwoman and interim mayor tried to equate utility costs and taxes, a gross misunderstanding. Notice it says, “You want to do these things.” But now it is what they are doing…
Falmouth, you deserve better.
