The Falmouth Town Crier – June 5

***** The Falmouth Town Crier *****

Some of the Whispers:

The NPFD ambulance was in Falmouth last night. A call came in—just two minutes from the station. The patient, unable to obtain help, called back to check the ETA of the ambulance. The end result? They had to drive themselves to the hospital.

————-
A close call this morning before 6:00 AM. A Whisper sent us a screenshot of a post from someone who woke up to their neighbor being treated for smoke inhalation. Where there’s smoke, there’s fire. Was there a fire? Did the hydrant near the house work? These details are unfolding.

Trappy’s Kaffee, a beloved Falmouth coffee shop, is scaling back due to financial constraints. While the location is closing, the Trappy’s Kaffee Truck will still be operating on Saturdays and we assume at festivals. Keep your local businesses in mind. Let’s all enjoy our favorite coffee and support Trappy at this time. Hopefully, they will once again be able to open a local shop in the near future.

Speaking of buying local and keeping your local businesses in mind; I was pretty sure a few years ago there was a big push by Falmouth as a whole to buy local. I guess, again, it’s “rules for thee and not for me.” We The Pizza, the new pizzeria in town, is right downtown. Councilman Joyce Carson is promoting pizza places in Alexandria, though on her Facebook. Seems petty, but it could just be oversight.

The County Attorney’s Office has had some hiccups putting their office back together after the flood. This information came from a heated exchange between Stacey Sanning and Rick Mineer at the Fiscal Court meeting on May 20, 2025.
A Whisper contacted us after receiving a delinquent property tax notification. They wondered why they keep receiving late messages even though the tax is paid. Well, this may shed some light. I assume they are working to get their office back in order. It does say on the notice that if you paid, disregard. I guess you can trust that.
We’ll cover this in a much larger article soon.

————-

Falmouth has fixed two fire hydrants, and apparently two more are on the way for June. A rumored eight more have been ordered. Hopefully, this is a sign of things to come. Once the inoperable hydrants are all fixed, maybe they’ll come clean about the mains, infrastructure, and low-flow hydrants. This scary situation must be addressed, yesterday.
They’ve had 15 years. New faces. Old faces. Same city.
15 years.

————-

Joyce Carson, Ben Wolfe, and Sabrina Hazen have tried to put together a public show in comments and posts on Facebook — deflecting blame and acting like they argued for the fire hydrant issue.
Well, you know us. Once again, we went back to the documents. The evidence does not support that. Since the council still refuses to film their meetings, we’re supposed to just take their word.
I am sure this also explains why they have had a year without Sebastian and two finally got fixed this month, but no more.

————-

Multiple whispers have described Ben Wolfe’s behavior toward a former mayor as unusually focused, some even say fixated. We don’t know the full story yet, but the intensity seems odd, and others have noticed.

This has been Thursday’s edition of the Town Crier. Please, get involved. If you see something, say something. If you’re upset, you can call your representatives.

You can call the state.
You can call the county.
You can call the mayor.
And you can show up at the council meetings.

Please also get involved by sharing these posts, reacting, and leaving your comments.
We will continue to work tirelessly for the people of Falmouth and others who just want to be happy and live their lives.
Whisper One Out.
