Story Context: Questions That Need Answered

This Whisper is loaded with conjecture and yeah, we’re reading between lines that might be blurred. Outside of the raw numbers, we don’t have hard evidence. Yet.
Let’s ground it in what we do know.
In the 2023–2024 calendar year, Falmouth, KY had a population just over 2,500. Back in 2021, stats showed Falmouth was still safer than 43% of other cities in Kentucky. So explain this:
Why does the Falmouth Police Department run on a budget pushing $850,000 a year?
Why can you sit in town for hours and maybe, maybe, see one patrol car?
Why can’t Falmouth PD provide 24-hour coverage with that kind of budget?
And here’s a kicker, why did Marty Hart get a 22% pay raise in that same year? From $63,632 to $77,697. Must be nice. I’d love a 22% bump in a single year. Wouldn’t you? So, congrats, Chief Marty Hart. Someone’s cashing in.
Look, questions matter. And luckily, there’s a mountain of raw public data out there. You just have to know where to dig. Sure, there are gaps in the story. But some of us are paying attention.
Anyone care to fill in the blanks?
The Whispers matter. Every voice matters. And blindly saying “everything’s fine” is exactly how we got here—a town being laughed at, a place that can’t even reclaim the reputation of what was once supposed to be a prosperous little city.
